GERMAN GROUND – German grounds [Berlin 1998]

On May 8th, the day of the end of the World War II the grounds of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin were advertised for sale in the renounced newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung [FAZ] by Horst Hoheisel and Andreas Knitz. More than 40 German real estate companies reacted by asking for the exposé, among them several companies which had exploited forced laborers during the war. None of them agreed to having their petitions exposed in an art exhibition.
